Tax Accountant Responsibilities:

• Research and prepare work papers for various book to tax differences.
• Perform year-end accrual review [Balance Sheet & Income Statement] and prepare the tax provision.
• Prepare various federal and state income tax returns.
• Prepare various personal property tax returns.
• Prepare/Review other various tax filings: Annual reports, Intangible Tax, Sales and Use Tax.
• Assist with research of difficult tax issues to identify solutions.
• Manage and maintain the company’s Client tax database.
• Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.

Tax Accountant Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role.
• Good understanding of MS Office and accounting software.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department Input data into spreadsheets (Excel)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports, assign tasks, accept instructions and handle vendor contracts, among other tasks
• Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. copiers, fax machines, printers)
• 2-3 years of experience as an office clerk, administrative assistant, secretary or similar role
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
• Organization and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks
• Flexibility to help them adjust to new tasks if company or office needs change
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees
• Leadership ability to manage challenges and oversee employees
• Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly
• Working knowledge of mail processes, including how to use postage machines
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

• Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department
• Input data into spreadsheets (Excel) and the ability to print the spreadsheet.
• Accurately, tracking and recording the receipts of various documents and records
• File paper documents in File Cabinets
• Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying to management
• Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Utilize the tools used and identify potential tools to help with the process.
• Greeting and assisting visitors to the office.
• maintain electronic and hard copy filing system (Dropbox)
• Supporting Principal Accountant, including minor support by ensuring glass ware are cleaned, ensuing the office is tidy etc.
• Office Maintenance – Cleaning the refrigerator & Microwave every 3 weeks.
  Wiping all the glass tables and reminding other team members to clear their desk (dust etc.).
• Change water dispenser (Gallon)
• Knowledge how to use a Mac Computer

Additional Tasks – If you are able to assist with other administrative duties, you will be considered for additional pay opportunity:

• Perform minor bookkeeping duties, which consist of posting checks
• Perform minor income tax data entry, which consist of entering W2’s

• Collaborate with client to obtain supporting documents
• Maintain accurate ledgers by coding transactions to appropriate accounts
• Monthly Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
• Knowledge what’s on a Balance Sheet and Income Statement
• Preparing monthly financial statements
  ([Software prints these based upon your transaction postings])
• Processing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks, if applicable [Not Often]
• Managing a portfolio of clients with various levels of complexity
• Ability to stay on course to meet deadlines and client needs, including reporting
• Experience with closing entries both quarterly and yearly
• Enter Financial Statement data into Tax software (DRAKE)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-5 years recent and relevant full charge bookkeeping experience in the U.S.
  Experience working in family office a plus
• Extremely organized and able to multi-task with various clients
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Diverse industry experience with small & medium size businesses
• Motivated self-starter with strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Applications, Xero OR QuickBooks and Excel.
• Proven ability to remain confidential
• Experience working in an Accounting Company is preferred but not mandatory
• Interest in learning and exploring new technologies
